About Total Access PATH Payment (TAPP)
TAPP is an abbreviation for Total Access PATH Payment, PATH's new fare payment system. TAPP enables you to pay your PATH fare with your contactless debit, credit or prepaid card and your digital wallet-enabled smart devices. You can also conveniently manage your payment methods and see your rides with a TAPP account online.
You can use TAPP systemwide. There is at least one TAPP-accepting turnstile in every PATH station.
Just take your contactless debit, credit or reloadable prepaid card out of your wallet and tap it on the center of the TAPP reader at a PATH turnstile. Similarly, to use your digital wallet-enabled smart device, select your preferred payment method in the digital wallet and tap it on the TAPP reader.
The fare will be deducted, and the green "Go" message will appear on the TAPP reader.
TAPP readers are digital screens located on the front of PATH turnstiles. TAPP readers allow you to easily pay your fare using your contactless debit, credit, or prepaid reloadable card and digital wallet-enabled smart devices.
TAPP readers do not accept SmartLink or MetroCard. Please continue to use non-TAPP turnstiles when paying with these fare media. TAPP does not accept OMNY.
PATH turnstiles that accept contactless payments will have TAPP readers. Turnstiles without TAPP readers will not be able to accept contactless payments.
TAPP readers do not accept SmartLink or MetroCard. Please continue to use non-TAPP turnstiles when paying with these fare media. TAPP does not accept OMNY.
